Aging in Place Modifications
Many of our clients are planning for aging in place. This means we create curbless shower pans, very low clearance shower pans, grab rails, built-in benches and hand held shower heads to aid in self care bathing even when mobility becomes an issue. It means a lot to us to give people their independence and confidence to live on their own even when they might need a wheelchair or walker.
ADA handicapped bath
We created this ADA bathroom for one of our clients who wanted his independence despite being in a wheelchair. The curb-less shower, grab rails and flip down bench allowed him to easily transfer from his chair to the shower, and the hand held shower head gave him back his ability to care for himself without assistance. The vanity we custom built allowed him to pull the wheelchair directly up to the sink for shaving and brushing teeth. Most vanities make it impossible to reach the sink while you are seated in a wheelchair. Widening the doorway to fit the chair was also needed in this bathroom. We are blessed to be able to give our client back his independence with this ADA bathroom remodel.
